Gwalior to have global level Integrated Textile Apparel Zone

Bhopal: A global level Integrated Textile Apparel Zone will be completed at Gwalior by December 2016. It will be constructed on about 200 acres at cost of Rs. one thousand crore and provide jobs to over 30 thousand people. Women will also get employment opportunities. Various companies are participating in construction of this zone.

Draft of action plan for the project was handed over to Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan by representatives of these companies at his residence here today. For this, cooperation will be sought under various schemes of Union Ministries for Textiles and Union Micro & Small Industries.

The Chief Minister said that the state government will extend maximum infrastructural assistance. He said that the state government is committed to state’s economic growth and will fully encourage new projects through its industry-friendly policies. Under investment promotion policy, they would be provided basic facilities like power, water and land.

The zone will produce grey fabric, technical textile, home finishing and yarn dyeing fabric. In the zone, factory will be constructed on 75 acres, automation unit and residential facilities on 15 acres and fibre finishing and waste treatment plant will be constructed on 115 acres. Ultramodern technology will be used for the first time in the world for manufacturing in this zone.

The zone will be constructed jointly by Pallav Group, Coimbatore, Theni Guru Krishna Textile, Smita Group, Priya Export, Prakash Cotex India, Arrow Cot Spinners, Periyar Amman Spinning, Asahi Filters Limited, L.M.P. Weavers, Thomas Textiles, Balavigna Weaving Mills and Saran Print Park.

Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, PS Industries Shri Mohammad Suleman, PS Urban Development Shri S.N. Mishra, Gwalior divisional commissioner Shri K.K. Khare and companies’ representatives Shri R. Jai Mohan, Shri S. Raja Shekhar and Shri V.S. Palanisamy were present on the occasion.
