The Congress is rapidly busy preparing for the assembly elections. Congress leaders Kamal Nath, Digvijay, Dr. Govind Singh, Ajay Singh Rahul, Arun Yadav and all senior leaders of Madhya Pradesh Congress had a long meeting with Congress National President Mallikarjan Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal in Delhi on Sunday. After this meeting, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi claimed to win 150 seats in Madhya Pradesh. However, Rahul avoided the question about the chief ministerial candidate in MP.
Since this statement of Rahul in MP, BJP is besieging the Congress on the ongoing rhetoric regarding the CM face. After this statement of Rahul, former Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh Rahul also shied away from the question regarding CM face. In Bhopal, Ajay Singh was asked whether the name of Kamal Nath has been decided regarding the face of the post of CM in Delhi, then Ajay Singh said – You have already seen Rahul Gandhi’s statement, I have nothing more to say.
Former CM Digvijay Singh, who arrived to inaugurate the Congress office in Govindpura, Bhopal with the Chief Minister’s face, said- Always remember this is a parliamentary democracy. There is no direct election of the Chief Minister in a parliamentary democracy. The members of the Legislative Assembly are elected by the party which has majority. So what has been said is correct according to itself. But I understand that the public sentiment of 99 percent people of Madhya Pradesh is that elections should be fought under the leadership of Kamal Nath.
On the announcement of the candidates for the 66 seats lost soon, Digvijay Singh said – Discussion is going on. Kamal Nath is the president of our Congress party. An election committee will be formed. And then the Central Election Committee will decide this.
The first list of Congress candidates will come in June.
Regarding the announcement of the candidates, Ajay Singh Rahul said – In every election, the candidates were a little late. This time it has been decided that the lists will start coming out from the month of June itself. Can’t tell preparation and strategy. We have only one target to cross 150. Rahul Gandhi said that all the leaders of the Congress party should join the battle field and choose the right candidate. And achieve the target that has been given.
Digvijay Singh inaugurated the Congress office in Govindpura. Former ministers Mukesh Nayak, Ravindra Sahu, JP Dhanopia were present on this occasion.
First list will be declared on 50-50 formula
Sources in the Congress told that the 50-50 formula will be adopted in the possible list of the Congress to be released in June.
