Fire at New Market Petrol Pump, Tragedy Averted

Bhopal  —  Prompt and elaborate action by city firemen averted a major tragedy when a fire broke out at a petrol pump in the swank New Market area of the state capital on Monday, two people sustained burns in the incident.

The area was choc-a-bloc with holiday shoppers in the afternoon when the fire erupted while a tanker was refueling the storage tank at the fuel station.

A huge operation was launched to battle the blaze that was eventually controlled in a little under an hour.

The cause behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
