Farmers should keep dried harvest away from electricity lines

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company has advised agriculture consumers not to pile up dried harvest in their barns under or near electricity lines. Advising consumers not to tamper with electricity lines, the company has said that such an act may lead to sparking and fire.

The company has informed common people and farmers not to overload dry harvest in tractor trolleys. This may result in dry harvest touching live electricity lines and catching fire. Farmers have been asked to exercise utmost care in harvesting their fields if they see electricity wires hanging in their fields. Farmers have been advised not to lay electricity line for thrasher on the verge of the their barns since broken lines may lead to sparking.

Electricity consumers have been urged not to extend electricity lines upto their thrasher supporting them with dry bamboos, rafters etc. Dry soil or ash should be kept to extinguish fire as precaution near thrasher’s motor. Agriculture consumers have been asked that loose fitting of electricity lines may lead to sparking. They should register complaint regarding such lines at the earliest at the nearest offices of the power distribution centre. They have also been told not to take illegal connection by fixing hooks to electricity lines. This may also cause sparking, fire and loss to their harvest.
