40-year-old Rahul Agnihotri from Bandhav Group in Umaria had started working as a labourer for Rs 1600 in the Forest Department about 10 years back. Gradually he started earning Rs 5000 per month. While he was still struggling to manage his family with his meager salary, he met Shahid Ali. Both of them pondering over how to start their own business, thought of taking advantage of the assistance being provided by the government. General Manager Industries got a loan of Rs 10 lakh passed from SBI in the year 2016 under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Rozgar Yojana which included Rs 5 lakh Turm Loan and Rs 5 lakh C.C. Loan. Both took friends and relatives into confidence and collected Rs 5 lakh more and then started a Readymade Garment Manufacturing Garment business from a rented house in the District Headquarters at a cost of total Rs 15 lakh.

With their good business skills to satisfy their customers and due to supply of good quality products, they started getting a monthly income of Rs 10,000 to 15,000 after excluding all family expenses. Today the situation is that they are in a position to provide employment to 30 to 35 unemployed persons for Rs 10,000 to 15,000 per month and to domestic women for Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 per month.

They have managed to repay the Bank Turn Loan in one year. Today their annual turnover is Rs 70 to 80 Lakhs. Out of 30 workpersons in the Bandhav Group Company, 14 women are doing stitching work. Both Rahul and Shahid have a great influence over the workmen. Workman Rajesh Verma said that earlier he earned a meager amount when he started doing small odd jobs but today he was earning Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 through cloth cutting work. Similarly, 30 unemployed persons including Kumari Rukhsar Fatima, Smt. Seeta Kori, Smt. Anita Burman and Shri Vipin Tiwari are now capable of earning and maintaining their families.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has a dream that every youth in the state becomes one who employs people not one who seeks employment. He said several times that the state’s youth should not wander in search for jobs now and do something through he/she is capable enough to give employment to others. He has initiated several schemes in this connection and people are taking benefit of it. One such living example is that of Rahul Agnihotri and Shahid Ali who took benefit of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Rozgar Yojana.
