Electricity Companies in MP to Appoint 400 Engineers, Other Technical Staff

The four electricity companies, carved out of the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB), are going to take on as many as 400 employees to make power sector efficient in the state.

“The four companies, Madhya Pradesh Central Power Distribution Ltd (MPCPDL), MP East Power Distribution Company Ltd (MPEPDCL), MP West Power Distribution Company Ltd (MPWPDCL), and MP Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL), are going to recruit around 400 employees,” MPSEB officiating Chairman, R K Verma said on Monday.

These 400 vacancies are for engineers and technical staff including line-men, Verma said, adding that the MPPTCL has already started the paper work in connection with recruitment.

He said that more manpower will help the companies to further reduce the power distribution losses.

These four companies were carved out of the MPSEB in 2002 under reforms in power sector and employees of the MPSEB were shifted to these companies then, MPSEB officials said. This if for the first time that these companies were going to recruit staffers, they said.
