CM unleashes major change in school edu

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday inaugurated a combined course of Higher Secondary and ITI vocational education aimed at majorly transforming school education.

Taking a firm step towards getting school students trained in vocational studies, the government included technical education as optional subjects in Class 11 and 12.

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) and the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) have jointly designed the two-year course.

Baghel launched the course virtually for Swami Atmanand English Medium School at Patan in Durg district.

Under this, students will be taught ITI course also in Class 11 and 12. On completion, the students will get an ITI certificate along with the Higher Secondary School Certificate.

The course, commenced on the initiative of the Chief Minister, is seen as an attempt towards transforming school education in Chhattisgarh.

“Now children can study and hone their skills simultaneously in schools,” Baghel said. “As of now welding course has been started for boys and stenography Hindi course for girls.”
