Delay in the probe of firecracker factory blast

BHOPAL: Due to delay in getting forensic reports, the probe ordered into the blast at a firecracker factory at Rau on October 6 also delaying.

Two reminders have been given by the officials of the district administration to the forensic experts at Bhopal but their reports are still awaited.

On October 6 after the blast at the cracker factory at Rau which killed 8 persons, the district administration ordered a magisterial probe on October 7 to find out reasons.

Additional district magistrate Alok Singh said, “The probe from our part is over. We are waiting for reports of the forensic experts from Bhopal”.

According to sources, the probe so far has not been able to establish any reason for the blast. Officials looked the blast from various angles.

It will be only after forensic reports are received that the real reason could be found out. The terms of reference in the probe included finding out reasons for the blast, finding out whether the license was issued to the cracker factory, suggesting recommendations for preventing recurrence of such accidents. ADM Alok Singh is the investigation officer.

The district administration has launched a drive and unearthed truck loads of firecrackers and raw explosives in and around Rau area.

Later the shops and small manufacturing units of the area were also suspended.
