Conservation of Lifeline Maa Narmada is Must

Bhopal. ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ Seva Yatra on its 72nd day entered village Kawda of Dhar district from Alirajpur today. Yatra was welcomed by Minister incharge of Dhar district Shri Antar Singh Arya and Former Minister and MLA Smt. Ranjana Baghel. Moreover the Yatra was accorded grand welcome by large number of men and women at the border of Dhar district. Yatra started from its destination place reached village Rampur and Jalwat. A tribal dance group of Bhil tribals in colourful attires was leading the yatra.

Minister incharge of district Shri Antar Singh Arya was holding the Narmada flag and MLA Smt. Ranjana Baghel was holding the kalash. Addressing the Jan-Sanvad at village Kawda, Shri Arya said that Narmada seva yatra is being conducted with an objective to create awareness among the people towards Narmada River. Participation of all is must in this. This will keep Maa Narmada clean and pious.

Smt. Ranjana Baghel mentioned that Maa Narmada is our life line. Beside us Maa Narmada also take care of animals and birds of the state. Therefore, it is our responsibility to conserve Maa Narmada necessarily. Narmada river must not be exploited. This yatra is a public welfare yatra. All the sections of the society beside Sant-Mahatmas, Seers and devotees are taking part in this yatra, she added.

Emphasis was laid on adoption of organic farming during Jan-Sanvad held at village Jalwat. Day by day increase in use of chemical fertilisers is reducing the land fertility. Hence, in this situation we should adopt our traditional method of farming. This was suggested by the officers of the agriculture department.

Chief of Core Group of Jan Abhiyan Parishad Shri Amit Shah shed light in detail on the objectives of Narmada seva yatra. Pledge towards environment conservation, organic farming, to make village free of open defecation, to undertake fruits and umbrageous plantation and to keep Maa Narmada clean and pious was administered to the villagers by the Yatra Incharge Shri B.D. Sharma.

President Janpad Panchayat Shri Jaideep Patel, Vice President Jila Panchayat Shri Kalyan Singh, Former MLA Shri Mukam Singh Kirade, Shri Manish Bhargava, Shri Suresh Soni and villagers in large number were present on the occasion. Yatra will cover its next destinations Dekcha, Jamda and Dharmrai on February 22.
