Congress Demands Resignation from CM, Colleagues

Madhya Pradesh Congress has demanded that chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and some of his cabinet colleagues who are facing investigation by the Lokayukta should step down, said media reports.

Talking to reporters, state Congress chief Suresh Pachouri said that Singh and his cabinet colleagues facing Lokayukta inquiry on corruption charges should put in their papers on moral grounds, reports said.

Pachouri was talking to media persons after initiating a signature campaign against corruption under the BJP government in the state.

He said that the chief minister was not only facing charges on dumper purchase issue but the Lokayukta has already lodged a case against him, reports said.

Referring indirectly to Industries Minister Kailash Vijaywargia, Pachouri said that corruption has assumed such serious proportions that a court had to order a Lokayukta inquiry into the matter, said reports.
