Concern for farmers and resolve to prosper them: Bisen

Bhopal: Describing Union Budget 2016-17 as revolutionary, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Gaurishankar Bisen said that for the first time, concern for farmers and resolve to prosper them has been displayed in Union Budget.

Bisen described provisions in the Union Budget to promote farmers and agriculture as step in the right direction. He said that provisions like Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, establishment of food processing, e-bazaar and provisions to the tune of Rs. 15 thousand crore to cushion burden of loans on farmers will not only give much relief to farmers, but will also enable them to double their income about which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken resolve.

Bisen has described as farmer-friendly the provision of Rs. 5,500 crore under Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme, Rs. 850 crore for dairy projects and Rs. 35 thousand 994 crore for farmers’ welfare. He said that increase of allocation under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to Rs. 19 thousand crore will ensure speedy development of rural areas.
