Compensation Announced for Officials Killed on Poll Duty

Chhattisgarh government on Thursday announced compensation package for officials killed on election duty during the Lok Sabha election. It may be mentioned that all 11 seats of Chhattisgarh went to polls in the first phase.

According to official sources, the Raman Singh government announced a compensation package of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the official who died on duty and of Rs 10 lakh to the family of each of the officials killed in Naxal violence during the polling.

While, a package of Rs six lakh has been announced for those who become physically disabled in Naxal violence.
