Committee Appointed on Sixth Pay Panel Benefits

In the light of recommendations of sixth pay commission, the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has decided to provide the benefits to its employees for which the State Pay Commission would submit a report.

A decision in this regard was taken under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan here last evening, an official release said on Wednesday.

Accordingly, the State Pay Commission headed by A K Agrawal would fix the emoluments including pay structure, allowance and fringe benefits for the employees of the local bodies and the statutory bodies constituted by the State government through its resolution of September 10, 2008.

The Commission would also consider the need for continuing the separate pay allowance and service conditions for the work charged employees and the staff drawing salaries from Contingency Fund.

It would also consider measures to modernise the institutions of the state government and to make them more professional.

The Commission would give suggestions for making service provider institutions in the field, to make the employees more citizen-friendly and to make them accountable to the representative institutions of the local communities.

As per the Cabinet decision, the Commission will go into discrepancies in pay scales of different cadres in the light of recommendations of the Sixth Pay panel, the release said.
