CM to Ajit Singh, declare Indore as International Airport

New Delhi: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today met the Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ajit Singh in New Delhi and discussed with him the issues related with aviation sector. He requested the Union Minister to restore the earlier schedule of Indian Airlines flight between Bhopal-Delhi sector, which made the journey to and from on the same day possible. Shri Chouhan also requested the Union Minister to declare Indore an International Airport which has been upgraded and equipped with all the required standards with extended cargo handling facilities for operating International Flight for the benefit of trade, industry and agri-growers. He also said that there is an urgent need for perishable cargo hub at Indore which will cater to the need of floriculture and pharmaceutical sector which has immense potential. The detailed DPR of this has already been submitted by the State Government.
Shri Chouhan urged the Union Minister for early allotment of 4.23 acres of extra land to State hanger by Airport Authority of India at Bhopal. The Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ajit Singh gave a patience hearing and assured of an early and favourable decision of the issues raised by the Chief Minister.
Shri Chouhan Met Union Chemical & Fertiliser Minister: Shri Chouhan also met the Union Minister of State for Chemical & Fertiliser Shri Srikant Jena and thanked him for the timely and required supply of fertilizers and urea in the Kharif season to the State. He requested the Union Minister to continue the timely supply of fertilizers till Rabi season (February 2013). Union Minister Shri Jena assured the Chief Minister of timely and required supply of urea to the State.
