CM Takes Stock of Flood Situation

Bhopal:  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday undertook an aerial survey of flood and excessive rain affected areas of Sehore, Hoshangabad, Harda, Dewas and Raisen districts.

The survey came amid concerns over a considerable swelling in the Narmada river following torrential rains in Jabalpur and Narsinghpur.

The rising waters are reported to have entered several residential areas, including those in Hoshangabad city.

After taking stock of the situation, he directed collectors in these districts to survey the loss in the flood affected areas and where necessary shift people to safer places and make all necessary arrangements including ration for them.

He ordered the coordinated release of water from Tawa, Barna and Bargi dams and said that care should be taken to avoid flash floods.

Pre-intimation should be given to conveying people before releasing water from dams, he added.
