Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, if we do not wake up today, then this earth will not be fit for the coming generations. State Climate Change Action Plan and Bhopal Climate Smart City Action Plan were released at the function. Apart from this, distribution of Ramsar Wetland Sites Certificates, Annual Environment Awards, Acceptance letters of Climate Change PhD Fellowship were also given to the participants. Prizes were also given to the winners of Atmanirbhar Gaushala Hackathon. Green city ranking was also announced during this.

Environment Minister Hardeep Singh Dung said that the theme of Mission Life by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is to reduce single-use plastic, conserve energy, save water, adopt sustainable food system, reduce waste, adopt a healthy lifestyle and To reduce e-waste. Under this, a target was set to organize one lakh events across the country. 75 types of programs have been done in Mission Life in Madhya Pradesh.

In order to increase the income from cow dung and urine etc. waste, the MP Pollution Control Board had organized a ‘waste-to-wealth’ hackathon on the topic of ‘self-reliant cowshed’. Apart from the state, participants from Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Delhi and Gujarat received 54 suggestions. Prizes were also given to the states with the two best suggestions.

The Union Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has launched the Climate Smart City Assessment Framework in the Smart Cities Mission. In this, important Climate Action Plans have been prepared by the Environment Department with the technical support of APCO and WRI for 7 smart cities of Madhya Pradesh – Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Satna and Sagar, which will help these cities to get better rank in the country. Will be helpful. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also released this action plan and the second edition of the Climate Change Action Plan by APCO.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, saplings are being planted at various places in Bhopal. People are also giving a good message by planting saplings. Aarti of plants was performed at Ekant Park located at Link Road No. 3, while hundreds of saplings were planted near the airport with chanting of mantras. More than 350 saplings have been planted in the corporation’s garden near the airport. CM Chouhan also participated in the program at 1 pm.
