CM orders magestrial probe in Indore temple stepwell roof collapse, death rises to 35

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that instructions have been given for a magisterial inquiry into the incident in Indore. 

This is a very unfortunate incident. On the basis of investigation, action will be taken against the culprits after fixing the responsibility, he said. 

The state government stands with the families of the victims with full sensitivity, Chouhan said. 

He said that our priority is to complete the rescue operation. Efforts are on to trace the remaining affected. 

The injured are being treated free of cost by the state government. No stone will be left unturned to help the aggrieved families, he said. 

Chouhan discussed with the family members of those who died in the accident and consoled them. He said that the state government is fully with them in this hour of grief.

Chouhan had reached Indore on Friday morning on a short stay. 

He inquired about the health of the injured after reaching the hospital and inspected the situation after reaching the spot. 

The Chief Minister said that the rescue operation is going on continuously. I myself also kept in touch with the rescue operation team and administration throughout the night. The injured are being treated better in the hospital. 

The state government will leave no stone unturned to help the aggrieved families. The police have also registered the case.

Chouhan said that wherever there are such covered wells and stepwells in the entire state, instructions have been given to get them investigated so that such incidents do not recur. Instructions have also been given to check the borewells that have remained open. 

Action will be taken against the concerned when the stepwell is opened. 

Home Minister and in-charge of Indore district Dr. Narottam Mishra, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat, Indore Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava and other public representatives were present.
