CM launches Atal jyoti Abhiyan in Sagar, says, No let-up in development of Bundelkhand

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that no stone will be left unturned for development of Bundelkhand. Apart from increase in irrigation potential, industries will also be developed in Bundelkhand. Bundelkhand will be brought to top place in food grains production leaving Punjab and Haryana behind. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was launching Atal Jyoti Abhiyan for 24X7 power supply in Sagar district today. It will benefit about 24 lakh people in 1801 villages and 12 towns in the district.

The Chief Minister said that seemingly impossible task of ensuring 24X7 power supply has been made possible by the State Government. Apart from 24-hour power supply, farmers will also get power for 10 hours for irrigation through the Abhiyan. He said that Rs. 1200 per horsepower per annum flat rate has been fixed to relieve farmers from the difficulty of depositing electricity bill. Besides, power bills pending upto February 28, 2013 will also be waived. Electricity bills of the urban poor are also being waived. In this regard, he directed Energy Minister to hold camps throughout the state.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that loans are being provided at zero percent interest rate to farmers. Wheat has been procured from farmers at Rs. 1500 per quintal. Poor persons are being provided wheat at the rate of Re. 1 per kg from June 1. He said that upto Rs. 25 lakh loan is being provided to youths under Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana.
Referring to Uttarakhand natural calamity, Shri Chouhan said that optimum efforts were made to ensure relief and rescue of state’s pilgrims. He thanked all those who cooperated in this.
Panchayats & Rural Development Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava said that earlier, people of Sagar city faced problem of power cuts. But now 24X7 power has been ensured in entire district. Roads and irrigation facilities have also been increased considerably. It is all due to strong willpower of the Chief Minister.
Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that Sagar is 49th district to receive 24X7 power supply facility. With launch of Atal Jyoti Abhiyan in Indore district today itself, entire state will start receiving 24X7 power supply. He said that power generation capacity in the state at present is 10 thousand 600 MW, which will go upto 17 thousand 500 MW till year 2018 following which Madhya Pradesh will supply power to other states also. MPs Shri Bhupendra Singh Thakur and Shri Shivraj Singh Lodhi and MLA Shri Shailendra Jain also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was accorded public reception by various organisations.
