CM Inaugurates LiuGong India at Pithampura

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries Arun Yadav inaugurated a newly constructed manufacturing unit of LiuGong India (LIPL) at Pithampur near Indore.

LIPL, dealing with the production of heavy earth moving machines and construction equipments, among other things, is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Guangxi Liu Gong Machinery Company (GLGMCL) of China. The unit is first Chinese investment in the state.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan described India and China as two great countries. He said that both India and China are great ancient countries. Chinese travellers used to visit in ancient times when India had such centres of knowledge as Takshshila and Nalanda and now both the countries are on the verge of becoming super-powers.

He expressed pleasure that China’s government-run LiuGong company has commenced production in its Madhya Pradesh Unit.

Union Minister of State for Heavy Industry Arun Yadav congratulated Madhya Pradesh for eliciting this investment. He said that the Central Government is trying to set up such industries which can provide employment to youths.

GLGMCL Chairman Wang Xiaohua among other top officials of the company were present at the inaugural function.

LIPL has set up its unit in an area of 44 acres with an initial investment of Rs 175 crore at Pithampur and plans to manufacture 2000 units per year, sources close to the company management, said.

LIPL has invested in Indore, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Madhya Pradesh Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation.

LIPL is the first Chinese company to invest in Madhya Pradesh.
