CM Chouhan attends mass marriage ceremony of disabled couples at Betul

Bhopal :Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that disabled persons should not consider themselves weak. They should enter into married life with confidence. Government will extend every possible assistance to them. The Chief Minister was addressing mass marriage ceremony of disabled couples at Betul today. PWD Minister Sartaj Singh, MP Jyoti Dhurve and MLAs Sarvshri Hemant Khandelwal, Chetram Manekar, Mahendra Singh Chouhan and Chandrashekhar Deshmukh were also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister said that God has given several gifts to the disabled. They should set up self-employment. The Government will extend every possible assistance to them. He said that the disabled couples will be given residential lease and assistance to construct house under Mukhyamantri Aawas Yojana.

The Chief Minister gave away Rs. 50 thousand and Rs. one lakh each and sanction letters of Rs. 25 thousand each under Kanya Vivah Yojana to disabled couples. He also distributed documents of Deendayal Upchar Yojana, marriage certificates, BPL, Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana and construction of houses to disabled couples. He also distributed materials worth Rs. 11 thousand each given by donors. Blind sticks, crutches and wheelchairs were also distributed. The Chief Minister received marriage parties of grooms at the gate of venue. He also announced Rs. 11 thousand incentive amount to girls who sang welcome song on the occasion.

Several announcements for development of Betul

Chief Minister announced sanction of Rs. 588 crore 74 lakh for development of Betul city. He sanctioned Rs. 38 crore 74 lakh for drinking water, Rs. 30 crore for houses for the poor, Rs. 18 crore to Nagar Palika, Rs. 500 crore for Paras Doh dam irrigation project and Rs. 2 crore for stop-dam. Shri Chouhan lauded Swachchhata Abhiyan with people’s cooperation in the city.

 

Inauguration of Shriji industries

Chief Minister inaugurated Shriji industries at Kosmi industrial area of Betul district. The industry will produce particle boards from useless residues of sugarcane, soybean, tuar daal etc. The Chief Minister hoped that establishment of the industry will ensure better production using agriculture waste and forest produce. Besides, local people will also get employment. He said that this will also give a fillip to industrial vibrancy in tribal dominant Betul district.

 

Statue of Veer Durgadas Rathore unveiled

Chief Minister unveiled a statue of Rashtra Veer Durgadas Rathore at Kargil Chowk in Betul city. He said that late Rathore’s contribution to country will always be remembered.
