Chouhan Says Sorry to Diggy for Rajgarh Incident

For Rajgarh incidence, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has reportedly apologized to Congress general secretary Divijay Singh, who suffered head injuries during cane charge, media reports said quoting sources.

During a brief meeting at the Congress leader’s residence, Chouhan was quoted as saying on September 3: “I apologise for the incident that took place at Rajgarh.”

According to reports, Singh asked Chouhan not to blame himself for the incident but held Rajgarh Collector Shivanand Dube and Superintendent of Police (SP) Asha Mathur responsible for failing to handle the situation properly.

The incident occurred last week when Singh along with some Congress workers was proceeding to Rajgarh Collectorate to present a memorandum on their demands after a demonstration.

When Congress workers were not allowed into the Collectorate, they indulged in stone pelting and police used batons to quell the violence.
