Chouhan Likely to Expand Cabinet before Assembly Session

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given indications that the state cabinet may be expanded before assembly session.

“The expansion of cabinet is certain, but so far I have not discussed the issue with the party organisation. After talking to the senior party leaders only a decision will be taken whether to expand the Cabinet before the assembly session or after it,” Chouhan said.

In response to a query about the dismal power situation in the state, he said that a lot still has to be done in the area.

The chief minister said that the state would become self-dependent in the power sector after the power plants of Reliance and Essar companies are constructed.

At same time, he denied that power tariff is higher in MP as compared to other states.

“MP is the only state in the country where farmers are getting 75 per cent subsidy on power supply,” he said.
