Chief Minister to flag off “Maa Tujhe Pranam” team today

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will flag off the first team of “Maa Tujhe Pranam” here on June 10. Objective of the scheme is to inculcate spirit of patriotism among youths, bring about awareness among them regarding security of borders and give exposure to youths pertaining to activities of the Army at international borders. Five boys and girls each have been selected from every district in the state. The first team will be flagged off from TT Nagar Stadium at 12.30 pm.

Apart from getting apprised of gallantry lore, the team will also undertake study of animal husbandry. Agriculture, business, industries and geographical specialties of the areas with the help of local people. Youths have been asked to apply Tilak with soil of country’s border on their foreheads and also bring some quantity of it with them. These youths will also motivate their colleagues by sharing experiences of the journey with them. The scheme is being implemented by Sports & Youth Welfare Department.
In the first phase, 8 groups comprising 216 females and 144 males between 15 and 35 years of age from all districts have been formed. These groups will visit Leh, Kargil and R.S. Pura in Jammu-Kashmir, Tanot Mata Mandir in Rajasthan, Hussaini Wala, Wagah border and Longowal in Punjab and Kochi in Kerala. These teams will leave to these places by different trains. Officers of Sports & Youth Welfare Department and security personnel will also accompany the teams.
