Chhattisgarh Govt Reinstates DGP

The Chhattisgarh Government has reinstated Vishwaranjan as the Director General of Police of the state, said official sources.

Vishwaranjan, following his alleged comments against the Election Commission, had proceeded on a leave from March 13 to June 10.

However, the state government reined in his 90-day leave and reinstated him as the DGP, the sources said.

Subsequently, Anil Navami, who was the DGP in absence of Vishwaranjan, has now been appointed as DG (Jails) replacing S K Paswan, who will take over as DG (Homeguards).

It should be mentioned that following his alleged comments on the style of functioning of the Election Commission, Vishwaranjan had gone on a long leave.

According to the officials, Vishwaranjan has been called back following spate in Naxal violence in the state.
