‘Siyaya’ Cheetah gives birth to four cubs in Kuno National Park, MP : India

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Madhya Pradesh has become Cheetah State with birth of four cubs in Kuno National Park in district Sheopur.

Today, we all residents of Madhya Pradesh are happy and happy with the arrival of four new cubs in the Cheetah family in Kuno National Park, he said.

Two days ago a female Cheetah was died of illness in the park. 

It is our great pleasure that the Cheetah family is growing in Kuno, the chief minister said.

The successful management of Forest Department, Kuno National Park, local administration has yielded pleasant results, Chouhan said.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, with your inspiration and successful efforts, Cheetah has made a happy return to India.

I congratulate the entire team of the Forest Department, under whose supervision the Cheetah Project is progressing successfully in India, he said.

This female cheetah translocated from Namibia to the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh has given birth to four healthy cubs.

Today it was a big gift for the people of the state and the world of wildlife.

A 3-year-old Namibian female cheetah ‘ Siyaya’ released in Kuno National Park has given birth to four cheetah cubs.

Forest Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah has expressed happiness over the birth of cheetah cubs.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) J.S. Chouhan told that for the last one week, Siyaya’s activities were concentrated at one place in Enclosure No. 5.

This led to the realisation that possibly Siyaya was about to give birth to cubs, he said.

On Wednesday, when Siyaya went hunting, Namibian cheetah expert Eli Walker observed from a safe distance at the relevant site and found that the female cheetah had given birth to 4 cubs, he said.

It is notable that among the male/female cheetahs released in the Kuno National Park on September 17, 2022, the Namibian female cheetah “Siyaya” has delivered cubs for the first time on the soil of the country.

The cubs and Siyaya are completely healthy and active.
