Centre lauds Madhya Pradesh for bamboo innovations

Bhopal: The Central Government has lauded Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission for novel initiatives of making available national-level forum to producers and artisans of bamboo in the country and state through Delhi Haat last month. Secretary Defence Shri Prabhu Dayal Meena has sent a letter in this regard to Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa.

In the letter, Shri Meena has written that team of Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission is praiseworthy for innovative initiative of “National Bamboo Expo Mart”. Bamboo artisans, entrepreneurs and experts from a number of states, union territories and district-level bamboo artisans associations were invited to the Expo Mart held jointly by National Bamboo Mission and Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission. Indeed, it was a unique experience for Delhiites, bamboo artisans and entrepreneurs regarding information about use of bamboo in day-to-day life.

Shri Meena said that while presiding over inaugural session on the first day and during Expo on the second day, he acquired useful and interesting information about multi-purpose use of bamboo, immense industrial potential and bamboo-based activities in Madhya Pradesh from participants from various parts of the country, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Anil Oberoi and Mission Director Shri A.K. Bhattacharya.

Shri Meena has hoped that Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission will continue to guide the country through such initiatives and encourage bamboo-based industries.
