Campaign against Filaria to Be Launched on Filaria Day on April 11
Health Minister Anup Mishra has said that a large-scale campaign will be launched in the state on Filaria day on April 11 to rid the state of the disease, said an official release.
The minister said that special health care would be provided to more than 1.5 crore persons suffering from filarial in 11 districts, release said.
He appealed to people of affected districts to take the dose of medicine for Filaria on April 11.
Mishra said that the year 2015 has set been set as deadline for eradicating Filaria from the entire country and Madhya Pradesh is also prepared to contribute to this cause.
The districts affected by Filaria include Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Panna, Damoh, Satna, Rewa, Katni, Datia, Sagar and Umaria.
Diethylcarbamazine (DEC) and Elevendozal tablets will be administered to 1.50 crore affected persons in these districts.
