British High Commissioner Meets Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni

Bhopal  —  British High Commissioner Sir Richard Stagg and head of DFID-India Michael Anderson met Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni at the Mantralaya in the state capital on Tuesday.

The High Commissioner held detailed talks on a plethora of issues ranging from energy area improvement, industrial scenario, education, health, nutritious diet to climate change and possibilities of cooperation of British government’s International Development Department.

The Chief Secretary informed the visiting dignitaries of the gradual progress registered by Madhya Pradesh on the socio-economic infrastructure, road network, investments and on various welfare fronts.

Sahni underlined the stress the state government has laid on good governance in urban administration and the implementation of people-oriented programmes.

Speaking of climate change, Sahni said Madhya Pradesh has always been aware of its environmental responsibilities.

Principal Secretary Commerce & Industry Satya Prakash, Principal Secretary Planning Devendra Singhai, Principal Secretary Housing and Environment Alok Shrivastava, Energy Secretary SPS Parihar, Finance Secretary Ashwini Rai, Additional Secretary Finance, Manish Singh, EPCO Executive Director Kalpana Shrivastava and DFID programme officer Jaya Singh Verma and senior programme manager Meenaxi Rai were present on the occasion.
