Both Cong, BJP Confident of Doing Well in MP

A day after all 29 Lok Sabha constituencies having gone to poll in Madhya Pradesh with conclusion of third phase of elections, both ruling BJP and the Congress expressed confidence of winning majority of seats.
 
Uma Shanker Gupta, Madhya Pradesh BJP spokesman said that his party would perform outstandingly well in the elections and expressed confidence that the party would triumph in more than 25 constituencies.      

On low voter turn around, Gupta said that BJP was not worried about the low percentage of voting as this was generally expected during the summer season. He said that even during the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, the percentage of voting was only 48 and hence low polling this time should not cause any alarm.       

It should be mentioned that in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP in Madhya Pradesh had won 25 seats while only four had gone to the Congress.       

While, State Congress Chief spokesman, Manak Agrawal, said that his party would certainly better its tally of 2004.He said there was a strong possibility that the Congress may win between 10 to 12 seats from the state
