Bhopal Art: Babu Namboodiri K Opens at Bharat Bhavan

Bhopal  —  Honest! Is the word that best describes the work of Kerala born Babu Namboodiri K, who opened his maiden exhibition in the state capital,at the Bharat Bhavan on Tuesday.

Babu in his works seems to have drained himself of all emotion and ego to spill untainted thoughts on to his medium, canvas or paper, to present a starkly honest and autobiographical perspective.

While his sincerity adds depth to all the exhibits, Single Wheel Passengers, Bed Time Stories, Onlookers and Miracle on My Way are an absolute dekho.

Though showing in the city for the first time, the mild-mannered and unassuming artist has exhibited at several reputed galleries in India and abroad.

Normally desolate, the presence of nearly three dozen students from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, where Babu teaches Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories Design, was a welcome change.

Mayor Sunil Sood formally opened the exhibition that concludes on October 25.
