Better law & order pre-requisite for development: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that better law & order is pre-requisite for development. The police in Madhya Pradesh has done this work with total credibility. Shri Chouhan was addressing a convention of new constables here today. Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta was also present on the occasion.
Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh police has a glorious tradition. The new constables should carry this tradition forward. The police in the state has made achievements like eradication of dacoity, destruction of SIMI network and action against Naxalism.
The Chief Minister said that the state is pioneer in growth rate in the country. The state is progressing fast. He asked new constables to work towards people’s security with total commitment. They should be soft towards common people and tough with criminals. Constables should be impartial, energetic, patient and courteous. The State Government will solve their every problem. He asked them to ensure action in crimes against women with utmost sensitivity. New constables should work with missionary zeal to make people’s lives better.
At the convention, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan shook hands with all the 2 thousand 704 new constables and extended best wishes to them. The new constables were visibly happy after direct interaction with the Chief Minister.
Home Minister Shri Gupta said that constables ’ recruitment process in the state has been made transparent and training course has been changed. Police Health Security Scheme has been sanctioned. He asked the new constables to create trust among people that they stand to serve them.
DGP Shri Nandan Dube said that such a convention has been held for the first time. The State Government is running programmes for welfare of police personnel. Additional DGP Shri Rajendra Kumar informed that 2 thousand 704 new constables of 6 police training institutes have participated in the convention. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan released 2 induction courses and “Mahila Apradhon Mein Doshsiddhi Varsh 2012” (Convictions in crimes against women in year 2012). Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram and Additional Chief Secretary Shri I.S. Dani were also present on the occasion.
