Bank Strike Hits Transactions worth 3 Lakh Crore

Bhopal:  Banking services in the state capital remained disarrayed on Friday, the final day of a two-day nationwide strike called by an amalgam of bank officers and employees unions.

Customers had a harrowing time as huge queues were seen outside most of the ATM counters, which ran short of cash as the day progressed.

The two day strike affected business transactions to the tune of Rs 300,000 crore, as work in all 2688 branches of nationalized and associate banks in the state, came to a standstill.

The Bank Unions are demanding a hike in wages and pension benefits.
