After 6 districts, all set for 24×7 power supply in Bhopal district

Bhopal: The State Government is ensuring 24-hour power supply in all the districts one after another under Atal Jyoti Abhiyan. Under the campaign, 24-hour power supply has been started in Jabalpur, Mandla, Anuppur, Umaria, Shahdol and Burhanpur districts so far. In the series, the campaign is going to start in Bhopal district on April 2, 2013.
Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the campaign at BHEL Dussehra Maidan on April 2 at 11.30 am. A consumer and Panchayat Sammelan will also be held on the occasion.
MP Shri Kailash Joshi, Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, Water Resources and Environment Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya, Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta and Energy & Mineral Resources Development Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla will be present as special guests on the occasion. Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur, Zila Panchayat President Smt. Meena Singh Goyal, MLAs Shri Vishwas Sarang, Shri Arif Aqeel, Shri Dhruvnarayan Singh, Shri Jitendra Daga and Shri Brahmanand Ratnakar will also participate in the function.
Volume of schemes to be implemented under Atal Jyoti Abhiyan: A sum of Rs. 15,506 lakh has been spent on the schemes under Atal Jyoti Abhiyan in Bhopal district. Total 81 feeders have been separated. It will benefit 499 villages. Under major infrastructure works, 10 new 33/11 KV sub-stations have been set up. Besides, capacity of 13 power transformers has been improved and new ones have been installed. Capacitor banks have been established at 22 sub-stations, 182 kilometer long 33 KV lines and 918 kilometer long 11 kv lines have been laid. Aerial bunch cable has been laid in 892 kilometer area. Apart from installation of 1421 new transformers, capacity of 60 transformers has also been enhanced. Due to this, number of domestic connections has increased by 15 thousand 869.
Other information regarding Bhopal district: Bhopal district’s population is 23 lakh 68 thousand 145 and it has 499 villages and 4 lakh 52 thousand 564 electricity consumers. The district has 13 thousand 533 permanent agriculture pumps connection holders. District’s power load is 809 MW. It has 41 sub-stations of 33/11 KV and 139 of feeders of 11 KV. The length of 33 KV feeders is 1045 kilometers and 11 KV feeders 1895 kilometers. Length of low-tension aerial bunch cables is 942 kilometers and low-tension lines 3240 kilometers (on conductor).
Benefits of Atal Jyoti Abhiyan: Implementation of the Atal Jyoti Abhiyan will ensure 24-hour power supply on three-phase leading to global communications to the benefit of common people. Facilities of railway reservation, banking, online payment etc. will reach villages on a large scale. Light, refrigeration, entertainment etc. also depend on electricity. Living standard of people will increase due to 24-hour power supply. Besides, educational facilities will increase on a large scale and internet connectivity will be within the reach of all. Similarly, health facilities will also be within the reach of villages all the time. Increase in job opportunities will bring down rate of migration from villages to cities and establishment of new industrial units will become possible in rural areas.
