Adequate power to improve rural economy: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Atal Jyoti Abhiyan will not only ensure 24-hour power supply and adequate power for agriculture, it will also improve rural economy. Shri Chouhan launched the Atal Jyoti Abhiyan for 24X7 power supply in Singrauli today. He launched the Abhiyan in the district from Bargawan Gram Panchayat.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in the wake of supply of adequate power, a network of small and cottage industries will come up in villages, further hastening economic activities. He said that the State Government will provide loan guarantee for upto Rs. 25 lakh loan under Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana to help youths in setting up their own businesses and industries. Loans upto Rs. 50 thousand including 20 percent subsidy will be provided to traditional artisans to expand their business. Five percent subsidy will also be given for 5 years.

The Chief Minister said that poor persons in the state will be provided wheat and iodised salt at Re. 1 per kg and rice at Rs. 2 per kg from June. Pattas will be given to persons living government land. Referring to schemes being implemented for welfare of all sections of society, he urged people to avail maximum benefits of these schemes.

The Chief Minister announced to open ITI and college at Bargawan. He said that process will also be initiated to declare Nagar Panchayat. He distributed benefit letters to beneficiaries under various schemes. The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 6 works.

Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that today is the foundation day of Singrauli district. It is a happy coincident that Atal Jyoti Abhiyan has been launched in the district on this day. It will benefit about 500 villages in the district.

Labour Minister Shri Jagannath Singh, MP Shri Govind Mishra, Chief Minister’s wife Smt. Sadhna Singh, MLAs Shri Ramlallue Vaish, Shri Ramcharit, Shri Kunwar Singh Tekam and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
