452 marriages including 21 Nikahs solemnised at Mau
Bhopal: Addressing a mass marriage function at village Mau in Sarangpur tahsil of Rajgarh district today through mobile phone, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that newly wed girls should not face any difficulty in their in-laws houses. As many as 452 marriages and 21 Nikahs of Muslim couples were solemnised under one roof during this mass marriage function.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed regret over his inability to attend the mass marriage function due to his pre-occupations. He said that couples should live with amity and lead a happy life. Villagers profusely cheered after hearing Chief Minister’s address from mobile phone.
Collector Shri M.B. Ojha enumerated benefits accruing from mass marriage function. MLA Shri Gautam Tetwal and former MLA Shri Raghunandan Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
It was informed at the function that Rs. 9,500 assistance will be provided to eligible beneficiaries under Maryada Abhiyan. As gifts, gas-stove, LPG cylinder, connection, sewing machine etc. were given to new wed couples.
