2 national-level awards for MP Warehousing & Logistics Corporation

Bhopal: Two national level awards have been conferred to Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation. Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan presented these awards to Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at today’s cabinet meeting here today.

Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation has been conferred “Innovative State Warehousing Corporation of the Year Award” under Indian Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence Award 2013 of Indian Chamber of Commerce. The award was given away by Warehousing Development Regulatory Authority’s Chairman Shri Dinesh Rai in New Delhi.
Similarly, the corporation has been given “e-India PSE” Award. This was conferred at Hyderabad by Andhra Pradesh’s Information Technology Minister Shri Punala Laxmaiyya.
Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country, which has formulated Warehousing & Logistics Policy. It also made innovative use of silo bags for storing food grains for the first time in the country. State’s storage capacity is being expanded at a cost of about Rs. 1500 crore. Turnout of Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation has increased 6-fold and profit 8-fold during last 5 years.
Cabinet members, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Additional Chief Secretary Food Shri Antony D’sa and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation Shri Shivshekhar Shukla were present on the occasion.
