‘A Suitable Tiger’ Found for Panna Tigresses

A ‘suitable tiger’ has been found in Pench tiger reserve for two trans-located tigresses in Panna Tiger Reserve, said a top forest official.

“We have found a suitable tiger in Pench to be translocated to Panna Tiger Reserve,” Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) R S Negi was quoted as saying by PTI.

Negi said that a team of state forest officials and Wildlife Institute of India (WII) was camping in Pench to make sure that the translocation is done in accordance with the Centre’s guidelines.

The tiger to be shifted to Panna was around two years old and has not formed its territory in Pench reserve yet, a forest official said.
