Madhya Pradesh to become power capital of country: Anil Ambani

Indore: Noted investors of industrial world lauded Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s dedication towards creation of investment-friendly atmosphere in the state. They described Shri Chouhan as a visionary dedicated to development.
Shri Anil Ambani of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group praised the Chief Minister’s efforts for creating industrial atmosphere in the state. He said that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan is a visionary. He said that the Chief Minister has three special qualities – courage, firm determination and care. Shri Ambani said that Reliance is the biggest group in respect of investment in Madhya Pradesh. He announced that Rs. 20 thousand crore investment will be increased in Madhya Pradesh, whose quantum will touch Rs. 50,000 crore in the years to come. Lauding Chief Minister’s investment promotion policies and programmes, he urged all the participants to give a standing ovation to the Chief Minister. On the insistence of Shri Ambani, all the participants stood at their places and cheered Shri Chouhan.
Shri Ambani said that investment has been made in coal mining and energy generation. Four thousand MW power will be generated and 25 million tonnes of coal will be mined. He said that power will be made available to Madhya Pradesh at the rate of Rs. 1.19 paise per unit. He said that Madhya Pradesh will become power capital of the country as a result of government policies and cooperation. Target of energy generation has been increased by 2000 MW as a result of availability of infrastructural facilities. Similarly, target for coal mining will be increased to five million tonnes.
Essar Group’s Shri Shashi Ruia said that the Madhya Pradesh will emerge as the major economic resource centre. He said that his company has invested Rs. 6 thousand crore in energy generation and steel processing sectors. Energy generation will commence from next month. He informed that business will be expanded to Bhopal, Chhindwara and Indore.
Kalyani Group Chairman Shri Baba Kalyani said that Madhya Pradesh will soon become automotive hub. Enumerating reasons, he said that Madhya Pradesh is the best governed state in the country where administrative machinery is cooperative and the Chief Minister is able. He said that investment in automotive manufacturing sector has increased manifold in the state during recent years. Shri Kishore Bhiyani expressed gratitude towards the State Government for cooperation.
NESSCOM Chairman Shri Krishna Kumar Natrajan said that talents, infrastructure, administrative cooperation and spirit of entrepreneurship are the hallmarks of Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, the state has immense potential of development and extension of information technology.
Sharing his experiences of setting up industry in Madhya Pradesh, Shri Abhay Firodia of Force Motor said that once the state faced lack of power, water and roads. But the scenario has completely changed now. He gave credit of changed scenario to Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said that if what has happened in the state happens in the country, then its entire scenario will improve. He said that the state is progressing fast as a result of good governance, infrastructure development and industry-friendly atmosphere.
Sharing anecdotes since 1984 to date in Madhya Pradesh in an interesting way, Shri Firodia described the last eight-ten years as magical. He informed that at the time of establishment of industries at Pithampur, we used to search for roads. Power comes then occasionally. There were no telephones. It was a period of difficulties. Now, there are roads, power availability, administration’s positive approach, which is unique. He gave its credit to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s able leadership. He said that his company will expand its investment in the state.
Famous industrialist Shri Adi Godrej was profusely cheered when he said that Madhya Pradesh has witness unprecedented progress. Its credit goes to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s dynamic leadership. He said that Madhya Pradesh is the first country in the state where 24-hour power is being made available to industries.
Tata International Vice-President Shri B. Muthhuraman said that Madhya Pradesh is a state with good governance and law & order situation. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan is making efforts to taking the state to the top, he added.
