1.25 Cr. Applications disclosed under Public service gurantee act

Bhopal. 1.25 crore applications have been disposed of under Madhya Pradesh Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act. Services have been provided against 99 percent of these applications. After establishment of Public Service Centers at development block level, Sub- Public Service Centers will also be opened at tahsil level. This was disclosed by Minister of State for Public Service Management Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh at a meeting of departmental Advisory Committee here today.

Shri Singh said that Public Service Centers should be opened at the earliest. He said that efforts are being made to include services connected to people’s aspirations under the scheme. At present, it covered 52 services of 16 departments.

Principal Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains informed that online registration of applications has also started since August 7, 2011. He said that over 24 lakh applications have been received online so far. Special Gram Sabhas have been organised as well as essay and debate competitions held in schools to publicise the Act. He informed that the Act has been amended with a view to increasing accountability towards people. Now, the first and second appellate officers can review pending applications sou motto and also pass appropriate orders. Good governance, Policy Analysis School and 20-Point Programme were also discussed at the meeting.

Member-MLAs Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh Rathore, Chaudhary Mer Singh and Dr. Babulal Verma put forth important suggestions pertaining to effective implementation of the Act.

At the meeting, members of the committee congratulated Minister of State Shri Singh on getting Public Service Award of the United Nations. Deputy Secretary Shri Manohar Dube and other officers were also present on the occasion.
