Woman Power: Mahajan Bats for Vasundhara
Indore: Coming out in support of beleaguered party colleague Vasundhara Raje, senior BJP leader and Indore MP Sumitra Mahajan on Monday said party decisions should not be forced on elected leaders and that the ongoing controversy was hurting the party image.
The BJP leadership has asked Raje to resign as Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly following the poll debacle
“In democracy it is absolutely wrong to thrust a decision on an elected leader. She is the same Vasundhara who had once ensured party’s spectacular victory in Rajasthan,” said Mahajan while cautioning against the damage the ongoing row could cause to the party image.
A former union minister, Mahajan said that the party should have taken Rajasthan BJP MLAs into confidence before issuing marching orders to the former chief minister.
