Vishwaroopam to released in Tamilnadu on 7th feb

New Delhi: Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan on Monday announced that after putting a curtain on controversies, which was witnessed during past ten days, his film ‘Vishwaroopam’ will be released in Tamil Nadu on February 7.
The Hindi version of the movie ‘Vishwaroop’ was released in northern India on February 1. The film received critical acclaim and viewers supported the movie saying that they found nothing objectionable in it.
The movie ran into a controversy when some Muslim groups alleged that the film hurts the religious sentiments of the Muslim community.  A division bench of Madras High Court imposed the ban on the movie in Tamil Nadu on January 29.
The Tamil and Telugu versions of “Vishwaroopam”, which deals with the adversities of war, were scheduled to release on January 25.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa justified the ban and said she has no “personal grudge” against Hassan or “personal interest” in the ban, a day after the actor threatened to take self-imposed exile in a secular place in the country, excluding Tamil Nadu, or overseas.
Written, produced and directed by Kamal, who also plays the title role, “Vishwaroopam” also features Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose, Shekhar Kapur and Jaideep Ahlawat.
