Vijender Flurry Continues, Bhiwani Lad is World’s Top Middleweight
Earning yet another distinction for Indian sport, Bhiwani lad Vijender Singh has been named the top amateur middleweight (75kg) boxer in the world.
Vijender brought laurels to Indian boxing by winning an Olympic bronze and then following up with another bronze at the recent World Championships in Milan.
“I am obviously elated at being ranked the highest in the world. It’s a fantastic feeling and would motivate me to do better in future events,”said Vijender while speaking to correspondents.
The handsome Haryana hunk, with his dexterous punches and model-like looks has gathered a huge following for boxing in the country, which, thanks to him is beginning to elicit substantial interest in the fairer sex as well.
