CM congratulates State for ‘tigerstate’ status

Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Monday congratulated the citizens of the State while expressing joy over Madhya Pradesh reclaiming ‘tigerstate’ status in the Tiger Census Estimation Report released by the Central Government.

Nath said that the tiger is the identity of Madhya Pradesh. It has also been proved that the forests of Madhya Pradesh are the safest habitat for tigers and other wild animals.

He urged citizens to be always prepared for environmental protection.

The Chief Minister has specially congratulated the officers and employees associated with the management of all national parks and sanctuaries.

He also congratulated all the institutions, individuals and experts associated with tiger conservation, who have expressed their concern towards the protection of tigers and attracted the attention of the government.

Nath said that Panna Tiger Reserve has done unique work in the protection of tigers which has become an example of wildlife management and conservation.

He has congratulated all officers and staff of the forests department in particular. A report has been issued today on the occasion of International Tiger Day by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the number of tigers.

The report states that the total number of tigers in the country has reached 2967. Madhya Pradesh has the first place in the country with 526 tigers.
