Two Security Personnel Killed in J&K
In an ongoing gun battle with terrorists in a remote mountainous area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, at least two security personnel have been killed, one of them an army jawan. The encounter began in the morning, police said.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Hemant Lohia informed that when specific information was received (about the presence of militants), the area around Kastigarh forest area was cordoned off to capture the militants present there.
He said as the security forces were zeroing in on the militants, they came under heavy fire in which one soldier and one policeman were killed.
“Security reinforcements have been deployed and the gun battle is still on,” Lohia said, adding that at least two militants were holed up within the cordon.
