Two Army Personnel Allegedly Rape 19-year-old in Pune, Arrested
Two army personnel have been arrested on charges of raping a 19-year-old girl in Sangvi area near Pune, said media reports citing police.
Two armymen on Wednesday allegedly raped the girl at Swaraj garden after bashing up her lover.
The police said that the couple, which was out for ride on motorbike, had to get down as they ran out of fuel. The accused then scared away the youth and took the girl to the close-by open ground where they allegedly committed the crime, reports said.
Later, the girl lodged a complaint with the police and the accused were then arrested, said reports.
The duo were identified as Rajneesh Kumar Sureshchandra (from Uttar Pradesh) and Suminder Singh Mahipal Singh (Rajasthan), said reports.
The incident comes days after a married woman was gang-raped in the city.
