Two Airworks Employees Apprehended for Ambani Chopper Sabotage

In Ambani chopper sabotage case, the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested two persons, both employees of Airworks, the company which was looking after maintenance of Ambani’s helicopter. Both, Uday Warekar and Palraj Thevar, are presently in police custody.

Warekar and Thevar were in charge of the Bell helicopter’s maintenance.

Bharat Borge, Airworks technician and a key witness in the case, was found dead on the railway tracks at Vile Parle on April 28. It is suspected that he might have been under pressure from the police as well as Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group to blurt out the identity of the culprits.

Borge, during the interrogation, had declined to give any name to the police even after three days of questioning before he was found dead.

It is quite likely that Borge, who had spotted stones and gravel in the fuel tank on the evening of April 23 and reported it to his seniors, was under threat from the miscreants who were afraid of being identified.

However, Borge had given them enough information leading to the suspects, said a senior police official.
