Tiwari May Have to Quit as Centre Asks Report on Sex Scandal

Following a sting operation that showed purportedly Andhra Pradesh Governor ND Tiwari in compromising position with three women, the 86-year-old leader seems to have landed in trouble with untenable indications that he may have to go, said reports.

Reports said that the Centre has asked for a report from the state government and that he may be asked to step down following severe embarrassment to the Congress party.

Yesterday, ABN channel of Telugu daily Andhra Jyothi telecast a video clipping showing Tiwari in compromising position. Later in the day, the telecast was banned by Andhra Pradesh High Court when Raj Bhavan approached it.

However, the channel’s Editor-in-Chief Vemuri Radhakrishna said that they have evidence to back what they have shown. “Let them serve defamation notice. We are even ready to deal with the issue.”

Reports said that Andhra Pradesh chief secretary has been instructed to send a report on the issue and the Government will take an opinion once it is received.

Congress party is concerned over the issue as it has embarrassed it, said reports. The embarrassment was more acute because of Tiwari’s long association with the party and he may have to go.
