Thee LeT Terrorists Killed in J&K

Three Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists, including two from Pakistan, were killed in a fierce gun battle with security forces in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir on Monday.

The five-hour-long encounter was triggered when LeT operatives holed up in the area opened fire and hurled grenades at security personnel cordoning off the Amlar village in Tral.

Acting on information, regarding presence of the LeT terrorists in the area, a joint security operation, comprising of the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), was underway at the time of the incident.

The LeT operatives were later identified as Zahid alias Abu Shahib, resident of Multan, Abu Dujana, resident of Pakistan and a local Mehrajuddin alias Chota.

An elderly woman, in whose house the terrorists were hiding was also killed in the cross firing. Four security personnel, including three CRPF troops and a J&K police personnel sustained wounds in the operation.

J&K police officials later said the slain militants were planning a fidayeen attack in the area.
