Srikrishna Committee Extends Date for Receiving Suggestions by April 10

The Srikrishna Committee on Telangana has extended till April 10 the deadline for receiving views and suggestions from political parties and other stakeholders on various terms of reference put out by it, reported IANS.

The committee took the decision, as ‘some more time is required as the issues involved require in-depth study and examination’, said report.

“The committee has considered the requests made and agreed to extend the date for submission of responses by April 10,” member-secretary of the committee Vinod K Duggal said in an advertisement published in leading dailies in the capital Monday.

It should be mentioned that the one-month period for submission of views and suggestions on Telangana statehood expires today.

Besides, the committee appealed to all stakeholders to provide it with details at the earliest so that it ‘can start holding consultations with the parties, organisations and groups concerned as quickly as possible’, report said.

The panel is scheduled to submit its report on separate statehood of Telangana to the Centre by December 31.
