SIT to Probe Paul ‘Muthoot’ George Murder
Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Friday announced that a special investigation team headed by Inspector General of Police Vinson Paul will to probe into the murder of Paul Muthoot George.
Addressing a press conference in Thiruvanthapuram, Balakrishnan said that the team was constituted keeping in mind inter-district ramifications of the case and the need to probe deeper links in detail. The investigation would also cover links of Muthoot George with goonda elements.
Refuting allegations, Balarkrishnan stressed that his son Bineesh Kodiyeri did not have any connection with the murder.
“My son is not into real estate business,” he said while adding that vested interests were behind the allegations.
Some 14 people have been arrested in connection with the case.
The minister further denied allegations of the involvement of his office in the release of a vehicle used by two persons, who were with George, to travel to Thiruvananthapuram after the businessman was killed.
